My Favorite Passtime!! Maine Costume Vintage Jewelry Buying Trip So where do all the great pieces of jewelry that inspire me to create come from? Many places that carry vintage jewelry and many people that are kind enough to part with their vintage costume jewelry. But, the most fun is travelling down Route 1 in Maine and stopping in every antique store and flea market that may possibly have jewelry. This is how my husband, Ken and I spent two weekends ago. Of course I look for bargains but most of all the piece has to inspire me so I will create a new piece of jewelry with the inspirational piece as the focal point. I found some pieces at the flea market which is so much fun for bagain hunting and talking to unusal people :-) . One great find was the owner of a store that I had been in many times before but I never spoke to the owner. The store is Queen Anne’s Lace in Wells and the owner is an incredibly nice and knowledgeable woman who is also quite a bit of fun! She made the trip worthwhile. Take a look at the photo of just a few of the pieces of vintage jewelry that I purchased from her store. I will post photos of the jewelry once I transform these vintage brooches into wearable jewelry for today’s fashionista! Please tell me of fun buying or just plain old shopping trips you have had!
